Gulf Coast residents from Florida to Texas are eyeing the unpredictable trail of the Category 2 storm as it spirals to the south and west of the Florida Keys. government heartlessly continues to let deportations take place without regard to human tragedy," said Randy McGrorty, executive director of Catholic Legal Services. Several South Florida grass-roots activists joined together to urge President Bush to grant temporary legal status to Haitians who are here without proper immigration documentation. Another reason for granting TPS, they argue, is that Haitians who are working here would be able to send more money home to help loved ones if they had legal status.
