First Presidency:In nov.1990, Aristide was elected Pr.with 67% of the vote. The activist Aristide had great difficulty to make transition as Pr. of the nation.In his speechs to the nation, he continued to use his divisive words, when at that moment we needed to reconcile among us.
Second Presidency:In nov.2000, Aristide elected Pr.for a second term with 91.8% of the vote. Most of the opposition parties boycotted the election, claiming that they had no fair chance.
The OAS declared that the election was unfair & that the methodology for counting votes was flawed.
No one requested/offered for a recount of the votes.
The political class began to realize the slope that Aristide was taken the country.He started maitaining close ties with the chimer police force & the "cannibal army"gang to use violence agains his political opponents.In other way the problem of the country was put aside, Aristide was there to serve his own interest not the interest of the nation.
Remember, Titid was democraticaly elected to serve the nation.
