Well he is the president and he makes the decisions.
He & his cabinet made the decision to give authority to the US to control the airport.
Remember, he is the president of the country despite what some may think of him.
Anyways, I think he said this because there are already too many troops/security in Haiti right now. We already have PNH, CIMO, UN peace keepers and 5, 000 American troops or more (idk).
So perhaps thats why he refused.
We dont know, but I do agree he should explain.
But I think the Dominican troops should be more concerned about their borders.
Many poor Haitians are still trying to flee to that side, so I think they should worry about troops guarding their borders.
As far as history goes. It repeats itself.....

Berthold' I do not know where your Family from, But i know the Eberle Berthold Family very good .
I'm from Terrier-Rouge 35 minutes from Ouanaminthe At 54 years old I remember things that my grandfather told me about 'the > Beleive me 1946 was The worst year in our lives .
My granfather was at the border of Dajabon and Ouanaminte when the Haitians was getting killed by the dominicans troups He was caporal in the haitian army ; He saw everything With his own eyes. I was 12 when He told me about it since i always nourish a bitter love for the domincans, so i'm the wrong person to ask this kind of question .He is 100% right, sorry brother, i hope you undestand my feeling about the all situation kenold Pierre

I am Haitian, a PROUD one. This is the best decision ever Mr Preval has ever made. Remember from time to time Dominican had been kiling my Haitian brothers and sisters; and as a thrut haitian, i will never forgot those horible moment, my people had been suffered from Dominican Troops( now even though moment is difficult we do not need them !!!).
Now i can understand we are experiencing a terrible moment but it is not the end of all. I remain Haitian a PROUD one. Thank you, my opinion..........

i cant say anything but remember history not too long ago they WERE killing HAITIANS in dominican republic JUST BECAUSE THEY WERE HAITIANS HOW CAN THEY PROTECT US IF THEY HATE US.THATS STRANGE MAYBE THEY WANT SOMETHING FROM US WHO KNOWS?
