Oreste Zamor (b. Hinche 1861 – d. Port-au-Prince, July 27, 1915) President: February 8, 1914 – October 29, 1914
General Oreste Zamor was chosen to succeed President Michel Oreste: his brief, revolutionary government did not accomplish much. All the efforts and resources of the state were sunk into the never-ending war between his administration and the Cacos, led by general Davilmar Théodore. He refused U.S. military assistance that would have allowed him to stay in power in exchange for the control of Haitian customs and finances.
President Zamor was overthrown on October 29, 1914 and left for exile.
